Caye Caulker is around 4 kilometers long and not too wide at all.... it is a fantastic spot to chill. mostly because there is not much else to do! (unless you wanna pay $$$ for the various water activities out at sea)... the streets are narrow and without a foot of pavement anywhere! its all lovely sand, perfect for the sole motorized transportation available: the golf cart! other than that its your feet or bicycles.. we arrived on the island a little earlier than we had planned... mainly because the bus we were on didn't stop at our stop in the jungle and when it did stop we were right at the water taxi location-
the people who live here are mixes of Spanish, English, Mexican, Guatemalan, and Rasta (garifuna) and most are fisherman masters of spear and line for lobster, shrimp, barracuda and others.
