This is a place that we stayed in the beginning of December close to Tikal. A friend recommended this guest house saying that the cabanas were built on a former ruin and that all of them had pieces of the sacred structures in them....?... anyhow we thought we would check it out and it was definitely cool...maybe not super comfortable, but cool.
each little cabana had doors with no doors, windows with no windows, and no electricity, but a fabulous view of the lake. it was owned by a super sweet family, including a little boy that challenged Red to several games of chess (and mostly won) which was cute because he didnt speak any english.
i got a little artsy fartsy practicing with my camera at night.
